Um... no. This isn't the Olympics. These players don't spend four years training for World Cup. They spend four years playing in whatever top flight league they can get the most money at. Every single one of these players are professional athletes that play or practice every single day of their lives because their club pays them to do so. World Cup rolls around the team gets picked, they practice when they can *if their club ALLOWS the to play internationally* and they play some friendlies during international league breaks. Then it's off to qualifiers. These aren't amateur athletes. So I think it's slightly disingenuous to paint that way. > Now suddenly in a month or so before the start of the worldcup you are supposed to unlearn all that. Again, disingenuous and perhaps not intentionally. Somehow you've managed to both over simplify and sensationalise in the same sentence. They aren't supposed to unlearn anything. You still kick the ball. You still pass the ball. It's still football. You still do everything the same. You just adjust. Ever play with a light ball or a cheapie that's heavy? You don't unlearn football. You just adjust to the weight of the ball. Same rule applies here. You can't blame the ball for everything. The fact the air where they are playing makes the ball ultra light has a much bigger effect on the game play. They've had the ball for over half a year, they have only been practicing at elevation for a few weeks before the opener. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:322276 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
