I remember that last time he ran for President, it came up that he had
prominently advocated, in the 90s, for the quarantine of people with AIDS.
He's also equated homosexuality with bestiality, called for a federal ban on
abortion, called for a faith-based interpretation of the Constitution, etc.
Fairly standard right wing religious stuff. The quarantine of people with
AIDS though is the one that has always stuck with me as being particularly
cruel.

But he does certainly come off as a nice guy. And I think he probably is a
nice guy in a lot of ways. I think Santorum is too. Nixon was mean. Folks
like Santorum and Huckabee aren't mean, they are just doing the Lord's Work
(tm) in a fashion meant to cause large swaths of America to be undermined
and turn us into something close to a theocracy.
