To be honest I do not know 100% how it is setup because as I said we are not allowed to get involved to that detail. It is my understanding it is the difference of using \\netapp\blah v. F:\ the latter being something they cannot setup due to needing an AD account that gives access to all directories on the NETAPP and the former they can do but I am not 100% sure it is down to the file share per project or if it is just \\netapp\ which still gives full access to all directories. Now the specifics of how they are setting those up and what accounts they have to use for one v. the other is knowledge not known to me. I was once told the actual reasons behind all of this but was told a year ago, that is when I found the way to do it if using Apache and told them well why not just do this.
