EIGRP easy to configure & optimised for Cisco kit. Use OSPF if mixed vendor environment and if network is large scale. Requires good configurqtion knowledge as much less plug and play than EIGRP. Also OSPF is true link state so faster convergence and better scalability. EIGRP is enhanced distance vector. Both carry subnet data and allow complex subnetting, route summarisation but OSPF harder to configure.
