I had this happen with the Yanmar in my previous C&C 34 years ago after going 
over a particularly steep ferry wake.  It was definitely air in the fuel line.  
I did not change any filters.  At the recommendation of a local mechanic, if I 
remember correctly, the simple fix was to pull the compression levers, crank 
the engine for a while to purge the line and flip the lever back down.  I don’t 
think it would happen on my current boat because the Universal has a fuel pump 
that continuously circulates fuel and that would remove the block?  Dave
