My 36 XL/kcb, whose rigging is similar to your 34R, has a very narrow angle between the mast and the forestay--too narrow to easily fit the Harken halyard restrainer properly. My rigger suggested that he just mount a 'bale'(?) to the mast instead which took up much less space. This has worked for years without problems. Charlie NelsonWater Phantom1995 C&C 36 XL/kcb

Now I know I can mount my Harken restrainer properly onto the mast and not worry so much about having room for the headstay/furler. Chuck Scheaffer, Resolute 1989 C&C 34R, Pasadena, Md
