CPU usage isn't the real issue here, its just about passing data unfiltered so the clients can do with it as they please. Clients that can't handle mIRC colors either by 1. interpreting and using them, 2. stripping them out for you, or at the very least 3. Just passing them along without crashing or acting up are very broken. Colors have been around for a long time now and are a defacto standard. Anyone smart enough to use something other than mIRC is also smart enough to either fix their client, or find one that works (which all major clients do). We can't code the server to fix all the broken clients in the world, its simply not practical. - -GW P.S. I'm using a new PGP key as my old private key is lost in the void of my former hard drive. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 8.0 iQA/AwUBPhCd5TrkKPytjGSNEQJl+QCfaHNBWlX7hEVWVCjRs8jBypsXxGoAoPiw X8wmHUC15246CxOX2L0U7vYX =CRy0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
