Thanks @SEZ9, agreed on all three points: 1. I'll wait for #11545 to merge (or rebase onto it) before opening the pom PR, so the connector-lance tests run against the inherited root argLine. 2. The pom PR will land first; the backend.yml cleanup comes only after it is merged. 3. I'll scan for other local `<argLine>` / `surefire.jvm.args` overrides and post the results with the workflow PR. For the pom PR I'll include the JDK 17 verification command (with `-Dsurefire.jvm.args` not containing the `--add-opens` flags) and its result, and I'll call out explicitly that the `darwin-aarch64` profiles are left untouched.
