Let's add another consideration: We talk about gender issues related to role terms, et al.
We have nonbinary and transgender callers. We live in a country actively removing rights from non-cis people, and we know from news that they are actively searching internet and social media in a variety of ways to push right wing agenda (used against refugees, visitors, students, government employee speech, etc). We can debate how much of a reasonable concern that may be, but it's enough of a concern for me to support making thinga private.
