It amazes me how several members of this list jumped my case (many more sent E's in agreement with me) when I said that if a Coupe were properly rigged (tail up) landings are a no sweat thing. Seems as though several of you were of the impression that it demonstrated the need for rudder pedals. Well if you think about it, this thread shows just how little the rudders and or rudder pedals actually do for a Coupe. Fred really did do it right, just goes to show just how much of a safety margin he built into he Coupe when you can still fly and land it without excessive problems when improperly rigged. Try that with most any other aircraft and they would be draining your remains out of a ball of aluminum.
This also proves another point I tend to harp on and that is, trust no parts vendor and no A&P or IA. Everyone can and does make mistakes and even certified parts can be crap. Ask 5 different A&P's or IA's the same question on how something should be done or what's right and you will get at least 3 different answers.
