It would be nice if experts would check how to compile Niftools in Linux. Then it would be easier to me to continue.
Check the site http://www.geometrictools.com of one of the NetImmerse developers. He co-authored the IEEE CG&A paper on the use of scenegraph in the game engine: http://nic.funet.fi/~kouhia/00637270.pdf NIF scenegraph doc is here: http://niftools.sourceforge.net/doc/nif/ Now his own game engine is available as LGPL'ed code. Could be useful. Niftools author based his code design to Eberly's book. But I don't know if Eberly reveals anything about NetImmerse or Gamebryo in his book. If Niftools is being completely interfaced to CS, I wonder what changed or additions need to be done to CS. Does CS have a scenegraph at all? Scenegraph may not be needed, but would make it easier. OSG is a free scenegraph for game purposes. There is something Ogre3D related here: http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/niftools/trunk/contrib/niflib/ogre/ Juhana -- http://music.columbia.edu/mailman/listinfo/linux-graphics-dev for developers of open source graphics software ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
