Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!

I was one of the first to complain about IG's original
posting as I found his reference to us being responsible
for our own ills both grossly insulting and profoundly
ignorant. I note that IG has not had the grace to
apologise for those remarks, obviously he still holds
them to be true.

However, when the time came to hand my guns in my wife
and I were both treated with consideration and politeness
by the officers concerned. I am first to criticise the
police culture on shooting but I certainly do not tar
all policeman with the same brush. Its the police culture
we have to fight,
not individual officers.

Dave, I'm no Uncle Tom and if you were treated badly
when the time came you have every reason to complain and
you have my sympathy and support but this whole thread
is getting beyond reasoned argument and into an area
where more heat than light is being generated.

Based on what people were telling me at the time the
police attitude varied from them being rude, inconsiderate
ba--ards to them being extremely helpful and considerate.
I suspect most of the latter were target shooters
themselves.

The most complaints I got were about Lincolnshire Police
as I recall.

Steve.
