FWIW John Kaster answered a question on QuickReports at the presentation
yesterday.

The bottom line is that Borland realise there is a problem, they are
"working with", read pushing, QuSoft for improvements but are not interested
in taking over the QR code base to fix it (which in itself is a comment on
it's quality).

He also said that, for Borland to change reporting tools, they would need to
find a cross-platform tool so that they could bundle it with all their
products.

Subject: Re: [DUG]: QUICK REPORTS ONGOING BUGS

Hello all,
I have been reading everyones comments about Quick Reports with
interest.

Borland ships a version of Quick Reports with Delphi, this gives us all
the impression that it is a great product and that QuSoft is a very
professional company that will back up its product.
Shipping Quick Reports with Delphi gave us programmers the
impression that Borland supports QuSoft products and that
Quick Reports is a product we can all depend on.

Therefore to some degree Borland should be held
responsible for many of us buying Quick Reports.

The latest subject on the Borland.Public.Delphi.Reporting newsgroup
is 'Subject: Re: QR dead ? (5 months: no bugfixes)'.

I suggested to the programmers on the Borland.Public.Delphi.Reporting
newsgroup to send a message to John Kaster
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and Charlie Calvert ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
to let then know we are not pleased with the support from QuSoft.

I sent a message to Charlie Calvert today asking him or someone
at Borland to get in contact with QuSoft to find out what was going on.
If anyone can get things moving with QuSoft it should be Borland/Inprise.

Charlie might not do anything about it unless he knows many people
are disappointent with the support from QuSoft.
I am asking all of you who have purchased Quick Reports to send a
message to Charlie Calvert, John Kaster or even David I, to let them
know that you are not happy with Quick Reports and QuSoft.

If we all let them know we are not happy then something will be done
about it.
