I was under the impression the two groups get on fine. What history are you
referring to?
Borland released Interbase as open source and Firebird took up the offer.

        Thanks Allan,

Thats pretty obvious, I'll chcke it out.

I always feel kinda guilty checking the Borland groups about a
Firebird
        problem given the history....

I don't have the answer but whenever I want to check up on an
unknown error
I first check the delphi newsgroups
        at www.fulltextsearch.com <http://www.fulltextsearch.com>
If you enter "could not find object" (make sure you enclose it in
quotes) in
the "Search Borland Newsgroups", you will find a few entries there
that
might relate to your situation. A link worth book-marking.

                Hi,

I've got 20 odd clients running a small system (a single EXE
written
        in D6
against a firebird database) with no problems, one of them
has just
reinstalled onto a clean Windows 98 SE system and when they
try to
        log in to
my program they get a "could not find object" error message.

Has anyone come across this or something similar before? I
suspect
        it's an
issue with the Firebird install, but before I start on their
        newsgroups I
                thought I'd go local first....

                tia and regards

                Willie
