## 0.9.0 release ##
[Mon Jul 20 18:03:06 2015] <jfarrell>: just sent the vote email
[Mon Jul 20 18:03:22 2015] <jcohen>: 🎉
[Mon Jul 20 18:03:22 2015] <jfarrell>: rc is available at
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/aurora/0.9.0-rc0/apache-aurora-0.9.0-rc0.tar.gz
[Mon Jul 20 18:03:40 2015] <wfarner>: please download, tinker, torture test,
and vote!
[Mon Jul 20 18:03:56 2015] <jfarrell>: will have a follow up vote for binaries
(deb packaging and api jar)
[Mon Jul 20 18:04:17 2015] <jfarrell>: but waiting on the binaries until the
src vote is completed
[Mon Jul 20 18:04:45 2015] <dlester>: jfarrell: is that just for this initial
vote, or all votes in the future?
[Mon Jul 20 18:05:19 2015] <jfarrell>: we can combine later, want to get it
automated, right now its a manual process for the api and debs
[Mon Jul 20 18:05:23 2015] <dlester>: jfarrell: seems inconvenient to have a
release, only to have to wait for binaries after yet another vote (I understand
why this may be necessary on our first try)
[Mon Jul 20 18:05:31 2015] <dlester>: got it, +1
[Mon Jul 20 18:05:48 2015] <jfarrell>: dnorris has been working on converting
the deb build and e2e tests to docker, will make automating with that much
easier
[Mon Jul 20 18:06:32 2015] <jfarrell>: wfarner and i where talking about making
that the default in jenkins so we can have test artifacts any time from there
[Mon Jul 20 18:06:50 2015] <wfarner>: +1 that will be huge
[Mon Jul 20 18:07:09 2015] <jfarrell>: wont be able to announce them or
encourage their use since they will have not been voted on, but we can use them
to judge rc readiness and coverage
[Mon Jul 20 18:07:40 2015] <jfarrell>: planning on that being my next focus to
before we look to cut 0.10.0
[Mon Jul 20 18:07:44 2015] <jcohen>: if people want to deploy from master they
*could* use them, right? They’re, in essence, nightlies?
[Mon Jul 20 18:07:53 2015] <wfarner>: jcohen: precisely
[Mon Jul 20 18:08:09 2015] <zmanji>: where would we host these artifacts?
[Mon Jul 20 18:08:14 2015] <wfarner>: jenkins
[Mon Jul 20 18:08:42 2015] <jfarrell>: they could, be as the pmc we cant
recommend that since we havent voted on any of those nightlies
[Mon Jul 20 18:08:43 2015] <wfarner>: at least so long as the load is light
[Mon Jul 20 18:09:59 2015] <jfarrell>: if the downloads become heavy off
jenkins then it might be an issue (saw this before with people hosting java
docs off nightlies)
[Mon Jul 20 18:10:28 2015] <kts>: we could throw them on s3 and solicit
donations for the monthly bill
[Mon Jul 20 18:10:30 2015] <jfarrell>: but if its minimal here and there spot
checks/tests then it shouldnt be an issue
[Mon Jul 20 18:10:44 2015] <kts>: if space becomes an issue
[Mon Jul 20 18:11:01 2015] <zmanji>: https://bintray.com/ offers free hosting
for oss projects afaik so we can also ask them
[Mon Jul 20 18:11:09 2015] <jfarrell>: would keep maybe 5, then space shouldnt
be an issue
[Mon Jul 20 18:11:34 2015] <jfarrell>: we use bintray for our (the asf) deb
repos
[Mon Jul 20 18:11:57 2015] <jfarrell>: also if we push them somewhere like that
its signifying that they are a release and we cant do that
[Mon Jul 20 18:13:10 2015] <wfarner>: anyone else have a topic to raise?
[Mon Jul 20 18:13:54 2015] <jfarrell>: thats all i had for today, great work
everyone on the new features added and fixes submitted for 0.9.0
[Mon Jul 20 18:14:12 2015] <jcohen>: # topic react demo
## react demo ##
[Mon Jul 20 18:14:27 2015] <wfarner>: jcohen: floor is yours
[Mon Jul 20 18:14:41 2015] <jcohen>: I sent out the React demo for the UI last
week. There’s been some discussion on the list, and I owe that thread a reply
myself.
[Mon Jul 20 18:14:56 2015] <jcohen>: But others with interest in the subject,
feel free to chime in.
[Mon Jul 20 18:15:36 2015] <jcohen>: For those not on the list, the demo is
available here: https://github.com/jcohen/aurora-react/
[Mon Jul 20 18:16:09 2015] <jcohen>: That’s all I’ve got :)
[Mon Jul 20 18:16:53 2015] <wfarner>: here's the thread, for those interested:

[Mon Jul 20 18:17:04 2015] <wfarner>: last call for topics before we close up!
