Ben, Wow. I really dig the logo! The new typeface looks pretty sweet with both the flat and illustrated robot. It preserves a strong sense of continuity with the current logo, but... I dunno. Looks a little more modern. I'd totally be down with integrating it into the website redesign. Are there any concerns about licensing? Do others like it?
Frederico, we didn't take a close look at pages on the Apache site, but your right that this page looks outdated. Fortunately, we can update it separately from the Cordova website. https://projects.apache.org/project.html?cordova Carlos, where specifically did you want us to add a link? Happy to add it once we spot the right location. http://cordova.apache.org/use-the-force-luke/docs/en/edge/plugin_ref/spec.html Steven, we didn't want to add any apps to the showcase until we received community feedback, but I totally agree... we need more! We've already added NewVo, Pacifica and SworkIt. Are there any others you'd recommend? Help us pick the biggest and brightest stars ;-) Regarding "Sort by Quality" on the plugin page, it's based on the rating from http://npmsearch.com/. According to their website, ratings are based on multiple metrics including: - number of stars - number of dependents - release frequency - existence of tests/readme/etc.. @ryanjsalva -----Original Message----- From: Ben Sperry [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, September 24, 2015 1:17 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Cordova website redesign I really like where this update is going, and what it signals to the community: Cordova is a legitimate, modern tech solution that's still very much alive and growing. The website look/feel has a lot of confidence, love it! I'm curious what thoughts are around a Cordova logo update itself. I put together a version that I thought might support the evolution of Cordova into a more modern looking brand. Would love feedback on this early logo update mockup: regular <https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3a%2f%2fionic-io-assets.s3.amazonaws.com%2fcordova%2fcordova-logo-3d-proposal.png&data=01%7c01%7crsalva%40microsoft.com%7cf0520805982d4472c5e008d2c51d40d4%7c72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7c1&sdata=SGjqowC5GRr%2fx%2bPMAk3eITzgMBeS6cT3sOvlqDDFdP8%3d> / flat <https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3a%2f%2fionic-io-assets.s3.amazonaws.com%2fcordova%2fcordova-logo-flat-proposal.png&data=01%7c01%7crsalva%40microsoft.com%7cf0520805982d4472c5e008d2c51d40d4%7c72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7c1&sdata=GZk4OiU91HlxByJPcDu6XwUuAOU9w%2bsSXAsqm90t8iw%3d> A few things to note: The typeface is really the big update - the little robot logo itself can stay the same (because he is awesome). The existing typeface is just plain-old Helvetica, which is totally fine, but can sometimes feel empty of any personality or uniqueness. My suggestion is simply to update it to a more contemporary, custom typeface (in this case, Brandon Text <https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3a%2f%2fhvdfonts.com%2fbrandontext%2f&data=01%7c01%7crsalva%40microsoft.com%7cf0520805982d4472c5e008d2c51d40d4%7c72f988bf86f141af91ab2d7cd011db47%7c1&sdata=jifOSddHhPpgwp030wXSXmlRi2QAQ34qbb6gj5wd%2bmM%3d>).
