I submitted a first suggestion for a new main page
for doc.oo.o. Please have a look at
documentation.openoffice.org/index_0.html
and let me know what you think.
The basic idea was to emphasize the structuring
into users looking for quick help,
users wanting to browse existing docs,
and contributors.
The unassigned issues section at the bottom
should draw people's attention to where help
is most wanted.
This is a draft, comments welcome
Very nice !
I have question wrt language selection:
-- many a french speaking people won't speak any English at all. The
"Select a different language" list might therefore be ignored.
What do you think about a flag icon or something?
Good point. I'll incorporate something.
-- if I understand the page well, the purpose of the "Select a different
language" list is to (1) change the GUI language and (2) direct help
search to the corresponding language resources. Right?
Actually, it just sends you to the localized docs site. I should reword that.
Again, a very nice entry page! Well done!
Thanks, I appreciate your comments
