 Hi,

I submitted a first suggestion for a new main page for doc.oo.o.
Please have a look at documentation.openoffice.org/index_0.html and
let me know what you think.

The basic idea was to emphasize the structuring into users looking
for quick help, users wanting to browse existing docs, and
 contributors.

The unassigned issues section at the bottom should draw people's
attention to where help is most wanted.

This is a draft, comments welcome

Looks quite nice. However, ....

1. The minimum width of 900 px is too large. 800 should be max.

2. At 800 px width, the icons for "Get Help" and "Contribute" block the text. Perhaps "Contribute" could be "Give Help"??

3. Under "Get Help", I'd like to see the language selector first and offered in a way that doesn't require any knowledge of English. And perhaps the search stuff on the ensuing page should be on the home page.

4. "How to get engaged"? I'm married! :-) Seriously, how about "How you can help"? Also, it seems to me that "Join the project", "Open Issues" and "Mailing Lists" are sub-topiucs of "How you can help"

5. The "Resources" you refer to are existing documentation for OOo or stuff for OOo documentation helpers?

6. Do the "Favorites" (ugh!) relate to the documentation project or to OOo? Who decides what links are listed?

7. Are "Unassigned Issues" the same as "Open Issues"?
