If we have the navigation being replaced by JavaScript, users who
don't have JS enabled won't be able to use the navigation links.
That's a problem in terms of navigating around the site: the homepage
would need to provide links to all relevant sub-pages. I can see that
you are doing this with es.openoffice.org, but that might not be the
case for all NL projects.

However, if a JS-based solution would work better for you, then I can
re-include it in the JS. But looking at it from an accessibility, JS
vs non-JS and search engine optimization perspective, as Goran had
pointed out, a CSS/HTML alternative would be a better solution.
