I contacted Ancestris regarding their methodology for translation and got following response (quoted below). It seems most of magic happens in their Trancestris [1] tool. I don't know how this knowledge could be used without them sharing the code and even if they are willing to do so. Let me know your thoughts regarding the matter and if you think the same methodology could be used for general Netbeans localization.
