I asked to other people, all using Italian locale. Here are the results
for various combinations. Still not good, unfortunately: something went
wrong in all cases.

A) Windows, Firefox 3, Java Version 6 Update 7:
Proposed download was the inexistent
http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=win&lang=it&version=3.0.0

B) Windows, IE7, Java Version 6 Update 7:
Proposed download was the inexistent
http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=win&lang=it&version=3.0.0

C) Linux, Firefox 2 or 3, Java 1.7.0:
Proposed download was (this is correct):
http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=linuxintelwjre&lang=it&version=3.0.0
but the warning "Your download includes a Java JRE because an
appropriate JVM could not be detected on your system" appeared.

The proposal in cases A and B is not acceptable for what I have already
written in this thread.

We verified Java versions in all cases through
http://java.com/it/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1
In case C, this reported that Java was already at the latest version.

Testers on Windows reported that the page loaded a Java applet, with the
annoying appearance of the Java icon in the system tray.

Hmmm. For what I have always seen (by looking at generated links only)
the home page generates Bouncer links for Italian versions too.

  Andrea Pescetti.
