yes, I get it, but I think this is  OpenJDK, which, well, I don't know
how it works but it doesn't seem to support the standard JDK methods I
guess.

(JDK) 6"

Is it the 64-bit JDK or the 32 bit JDK? I've discovered (some time back) that the 64-bit Java does not supply the browser plugin, so any browser-based test for Java will return negative :(
32 bits.
