how it works but it doesn't seem to support the standard JDK methods I

Lost ;-) OpenJDK is not installed, only "Sun Java(TM) Development Kit
(JDK) 6"
Is it the 64-bit JDK or the 32 bit JDK? I've discovered (some time back) that
the 64-bit Java does not supply the browser plugin, so any browser-based test
for Java will return negative :(
32 bits.
