EDIT. I think that is a shame, since some new ideas came up in the thread, which are not in the old bug.

I guess I knew that would happen, but I filed the request anyway out of loyality to the forum-thread Apparently Logitech thinks this part of the UI is best left to 3rd party devs to cope with. Anyway: going through this exercise showed me the way to a plugin, The Synchronizer, which basically solves my needs for Sync-UI although it could be done both more pretty and intuitive.
