If you must remain wireless try using a different channel as some other wireless networks or wireless devices might be causing interference. Manually, test each channel and find the one with the least interference. Turn off your router's "auto" channel selection function as some routers cause problems with this feature. Also, any other fancy "vendor-specific" feature like "Turbo" to enhance speed should be turned off as these features only work with the vendor's wireless cards. Router's by default slow down to the speed of the slowest wireless adapter. If you have a mixture of wireless adapters 802.11 a/b/g in your computers and the router is not fast enough to switch to the "slowest" connected adapter, it can cause performance problem.
I concur with the other folks here. To stream media a "wired" network is the way to go, specially if you live in a city or around many wireless devices contending for bandwidth. -- tamanaco ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tamanaco's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4620 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41275 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
