I want to echo Don's comments.

I've been licensed since 1974, not long to sum and a over a lifetime for
others. I've worked in communications over 20 years specifying, purchasing,
designing, installing, and operating various types of equipment including
HF antenna's. Oh I use G5RV's at home, the Office, I recommended them to
emergency services organizations, and used them during emergencies and
disasters.

However, when I stop thinking that I didn't have the room to install an 80
meter fullwave loop and listen to my friend and mentor George Runyan,
WB6YEC actually building it, the light came on. Remember it doesn't have to
be shaped square, or rectangular. There are many possibilities.

We used 14 ga stranded wire, 450 ohm ladder line, and suspending it 32'
above the ground using old well pipe for supports, the results were beyond
my expectations. No it doesn't tune 160 as a balanced antenna but it work's
just fine when I short the ladderline then configuring it as end fed using
the loop as a "top" capacity hat. The signal reports on 160, well, the
comments have been "Best Signal out of San Diego on 160"

No its not the Holy Grail but for my many years of experience as antenna's
go, the 80 meter fullwave loop using 450 ohm ladderline has my vote.

73's and I wish you all the best,

Standard size house lot? a flag pole at each corner, put up a loop,
feed it with 450 ladder and a good tuner. The antenna you are asking for
is the 'holy grail' for us all, so the best you will come up with is some
form of compromise. a full size loop or longer dipole type with a good
tuner
will go a long way. myself, I haven't been too happy with the G5RV, but
others have been.. same thing with windoms, bazooka's etc. and for me,
these are types for me to tinker around with and have some fun with it.
But
the loop or dipole are simple, and fed with 450 ladder and good tuner,
will pretty much do what you are asking.

Been very happy with my G5RV... still am experimenting, nevertheless.

Hi Karl

I have been using a Carolina Windom, that I bought from Radio Works (they
are on the internet), with a tuner and have been very happy.

I use a T-4XC, MN2700 and L7.

73,

George Bennett, K1GMB
