Interesting. I never had a burnout problem with my Newer 240/1MB other than
a (thermal?) shutdown one time when I first got it. I always ran my 2400 on
top of a Coolpad. If it felt too warm, I switched down the backside cache
for a bit. I loved the speed boost though.

Turn down the backside cache and make sure that the bottom of the computer
is properly ventilated.
