Now that I've swapped out the for the 3rd time, I've run across a new 
glitch. The cpu will freeze/crash during start-up or as soon as the 
desktop appears unless I use the Nupower control panel to lower the 
cpu speed to 120 from it's default setting of 160.

I don't think i've added any new system stuff in the last 2 weeks, 
have I got a bad card?

That's the cache speed you're changing, not the CPU speed.  So I 
would guess that you have iffy cache.  Newer should provide a 
replacement unit.

For now, just run the cache at 120 MHz.  The real world speed 
difference isn't that much.
