The only problem I ever had with my 2400 which is recurrent is the "moustache" (the
clicker button) not working well. The problem, in my case, turned out to be the fact
that the trackpad gets so hot that the little switch under the clicker (the springy
little thingy at the beginning of the ribbon cable connecting the trackpad to the main
board - sorry the totally stupid names but I have no idea what these things are
called), it gets so hot that that whatchamacallit gets disfigured and becomes
unreliable. I had the whole thing exchanged once and the problem returned after a day
of continuous use when the little bastard got too hot again.
I have installed a thin aluminum foil in between two layers of paper under the
trackpad to divert the heat. This trick has been working for a year now.
>I have tinkered with many duo computers and can take them apart almost blindfolded.
I have put Newertech's G3 upgrade card in and out and in and out again. It is somewhat
anxiety provoking to do it first because you have to literally disassemble the whole
interior. But it becomes quite routine.

I have had 4 Macs so far and apart from the screen of my first Powerbook 140 dying
after some 8 years of use I have not had any major problems with any of them. I am
writing this on a Powermac 7100/66/G3 which even survived a major power surge that
killed a modem and 2 telephones, only the sound is a bit garbled ever since.

I have 2 love objects, my wife and my 2400. I think this tells all.
