similar thing happened to me, when I upgraded my 2400 to g3.  i sent it back 
to the techs and they replaced the g3 processor chip. they said the power 
manager was screwing up,but wanted to replace the chip to be on the safe 
side.....try repeatedly pushing the back restart button after resetting 
(holding down for at least 30 sec) and see if that works.
