Indeed. I have been working as a network manager for 10 years and my
rule of thumb is that laptops cost 2x and have a useful life of about
1/3rd that of a desktop machine. PowerBooks seem to beat that average
a bit, but not by too much.
Frequently in a corporate environment a laptop is nothing more than a
status symbol anyway. =)
