The duo 280c will connect to the internet "as is" privded your modem works,
if it dosen't you can always buy a external since there is a plug on the
back for the external modem. The internal modem is slow when I have the
need for a bit more speed I use an external best data 56k V/90. Who's your
service provider? Zipcon.net? Make sure they support Mac Some ISP's don't
such as the EVIL MSN Microsoft! (which I use for my pc's) I would recommend
that you upgrade your system to at least 7.6.1 to get better performance and
reliability out of it. Net working 2 macks is as simple as turning them on
as you mentiond using the printer port cabel. Hook them togather turn on
apple share and have fun! You do know how to configure apple share don't
you?

It has system 7.5.3 on it, with Open Transport...I need to know what
software I need to get on it in order to connect to the internet with the
built-in modem
my brother is bringing his MacIIci over (I used to have a few macs, but I've
switched to PCs (I'll probably get flamed for this, but I prefer PCs over
Macs now-a-days, because of price, compatibility, and efficiency. I used to
be a mac lover, I know what it's like)). I am going to use a printer cable
to network to his IIci so I can transfer the files.
