Dear Christopher If the pins keep popping out, the holes in your bridge may be a bit too roomy from wear, or the pins may be too narrow. You could have a luthier check them. Maybe replace the pins, they are hardly ever the original pins anyway.
What I do to stop the pin jumping out: I wrap a very small piece of (black) paper around the pin and then insert it with the string. Also, I make a BIG knot in the string, I mean, I make a knot and then another knot on top of it, so to speak :-) I hope that that helps!
