Ron, I am replying to the original you just sent. I am using SBC Yahoo mail
and before when I hit the reply to all, the only address in the TO: (of my
reply)
was 'Elecraft Discussion List'<yada yada>. Now a normal 'reply to all' and one
message is sent to you and one to the list. 'YOU get 2, everyone else gets 1.
In other words "It's Still Broke"....in the sense that you don't have to fiddle
around with a reply by removing the eMail address of the person you are replying
to. Hell, I can't even understand what I just typed. Think I will wind some
toroids
to calm down......

I didn't before and I haven't changed a thing at this end.

It's apparently been changed back to the way it was, but in answer to your
question, it's a simple matter of doing things in the correct manner. From:,
To: and Subject: headers are, in general, unreliable and/or ambiguous
indicators of the proximate message source. If a user sends a message to
both the list and another user, then the recipient will get two copies via
different routes. By "proximate source," I mean to differentiate between a
message received directly and one received via the list server.

One possible method of reliable filtering has already been given. There are
others. You need to identify and use a header which is unique to the
proximate source.
