EVERY time since there's been a TSA I have always had 3 or more chargers, etc. & cables in my carry-on, and have NEVER had them look inside.
By the way, the last trip my wife and I took, on the return portion, all of a sudden we were preferred or prequalified-or whatever it's called, and got to go through a separate and VERY minimal line, with no shoe removal nor pocket emptying. 3 minutes tops.
