The 1D bodies are the only true professional grade digital cameras. My
first Canon digital was a D60, which I still use on occasion, but when
I got my original 1Ds a few years ago, it was a night and day
difference. The D60 feels like a toy in comparison... and as a
consequence, the quality of my photos went WAY up when I started using
the 1Ds... no so much because it takes *that* much better a photo, but
because I FELT like a professional just holding the 1Ds. My entire
thinking and approach to photography changed upon acquiring that
camera. Now the 1Ds is used only for paying jobs such as weddings, and
the D60 is my "play" camera. I feel like an amateur with the D60
because that is the standard to which it is built... and I assume the
later versions of it... 20D, 30D, Rebel, etc. have the same "feel" to
them. It is something that can be hard to quantify, but a professional
instrument DOES go towards making you act and think like a
professional.

Hi Marco:
I love my EOS 3 and 1n as well and have been thinking about the same
problem recently. I have a 20D but it isn't exactly like EOS 3 in
terms of ease of handling. I'd say 20D operates more like the old EOS
5 or 50E. I suppose 30D and 40D would be in similar situation.
That's why I'm saving my $$ to get a EOS 1Ds. (I like full frame 'cos
I want to some of my super wide glass). :)
Just my 2 cents,

Hi, I own an EOS 3 and a Digital Rebel 350. Since my son was born
about 2
years ago, most of my photography has switched to digital on the 350.
Last
weekend I took the EOS 3 for a session on the park, and the overall
feeling
was that it is a superb camera and the 350 pales in comparison. To
what
digital body does the EOS 3 compare ? I don't have the money to buy
a new
body, but want a digital that behaves like the EOS 3.
