The most significant change, and the only handling change, is due to the decrease in elevator up travel. This results in faster landing speeds, but the flip side is it "encourages" you to keep the plane off the ground until the yoke is full back. The purpose is to maintain the stall free characteristics at the higher weight. If you have a split elevator this does not apply.
Remember, the Ercoupe is designed to be able to handle high(er) speed landings. Structurally there are several small changes that may or may not be required, depending on your serial number and previous mods and repairs. Mostly they have to do with the shock absorbing capacity of the landing gear. The trim tab requirement is simply to bring the airframe into compliance with the 787 TCDS and was incorporated to ease the approval process.
