A closed object could then be made darker to differenciate it from a minimized object. I would be in favor of eliminating the distinction between open/maximized and closed/minimized. Open/Maximized Documents would show up on the Desktop, and Closed/Minimized Documents would be in some overlay/sidebar/random-receptacle-we-invent-in-the-next-couple-of-days. Is there any technical reason we can't do this? Or is there at least a technical reason we can't make it appear to work this way (ie: keeping some minimized files in memory, but visually putting them in the same place as closed files)? J.
The issue i see with minimizing to the overlay is that the object is 4 clicks away, 1 click to open the overlay, 2 clicks to bring it back to the desktop, 1 to dismiss the overlay. minimizing the object onto the document bar is one click away. _______________________________________________
