Both are only a single metadata. Each UTI has an associated human-
readable description in the same way it has an array of associated
extensions… this is visible in Apple spec.
Behind the scene, you have an UTI db, you just query the db to know
the various fields bound to a particular UTI.

What do you mean by Creator? The application which 'owns' the
document (most of time by creating it) or something different.
If you mean the first case, it's probably better to call it Default
Editor/Viewer (or simply Editor/Viewer). The user should be able to
modify it.
This won't be stored in term of metadatas strictly speaking, but like
UTI description this would be stored in a specific db which relates
each UTI to an Editor and a Viewer.

Not sure to understand. Mostly because you put users and devices
together.

- Comment/Description
- URL
- Owner (this is related to the next one)
- Permissions
- Version/Revision
- Number of elements (in a folder or a project… may be also valid for
a document if you consider all its components)
- Persons/Contacts related to this element

File size and Number of elements are not pure metadatas since they
can be recomputed at any time for an object.

All document-type specific metadatas like Authors, Copyright,
Summary, Languages, Company and more for a text document. EXIF and
IPTC for pictures. Ditto with sounds, videos.

We should probably make some metadatas like Authors, Copyright
available for any elements.

Cheers,
Quentin.
