computational program called Ultrascan used to do mathmatical analysis of
analytical ultracentrifugation data (sure there are some subscribers at
the UofO that use it as well).  Has a hefty GUI frontend as well.

Ethernet-10Mbps (as long as you aren't on between 23:30 and 24:00 when the
OSU network seems to come to a standstill )-:)

three at most, though more then likely none (one user at a time).

very slow to initialize then performance is fairly good until opening up
UltraScan, then it slows to a crawl again.  Since the point of this work
is to allow users to use UltraScan, I am trying to find a better solution
which is secure (this box was hacked a year ago and seems to still get a
lot of attention though no further cracks to date).
