First of all: Peter, this is exactly why I love the design of freenet. In
reality, this is true with any software that you can't understand the inner
workings of - for all you know, ms word might be stegoing kiddie porn into
every document (it would certainly explain the bloated file sizes). Freenet
and the Seattle/Bay Area/Portland/etc wireless network projects are some of
the most beauitful things I've ever seen, right on up there with the
handbuilt EVs. They're all ways that the people are fighting back, and all
ways that the people are fighting back are to be encouraged, the way I see
it.

Second of all: I know that I'm usually the guilty one here, but I'm going to
go out on a limb and declare discussions of Freenet off topic. We've
wandered a little too far afeild here, folks, can we try and swing the
discussion back to EVs? Maybe we should break out a tiny 'working group' of
people who are interested in publishing EVent video, and they can talk about
freenet, gnutella, grokster, colo'd machines, and other creative ways to get
the video out.

I really think that we're treading on dangerous ground here - because if
this gets into a discussion about free speech, me and some other list
members who remain unnamed may end up verbally strangling each other. That
does the list no good.
