Outlook profiles are underneath user profiles in the grand hierarchy because
they're registry settings in the user's profile.  A user can only see the
Outlook profiles in his own user profile.

I'm still not clear on whether you're talking about Win profiles or OL
profiles.  If the problem is with the Win profiles, then the fact that it
came back after using a temporary profile is not necessarily reassuring.
I've had a Win2K workstation that was playing musical chairs with my profile
all the time, creating temp profiles, new permanent profiles, and sometimes
going back to previous profiles.

Chances are good that you'll need to rebuild the OS on that machine.
