it was one of the outlook profiles that dissapeared, her user profile was intact- I went to ctr pnl mail and the second mail profile was there her main profile vanished- but her OST and oab files were there- almost as if she went in and manually deleted the main outlook profile- but she like most users don't even know how to get to it

If the problem is with the Win profiles, then the fact that it came back after using a temporary profile is not necessarily reassuring. I've had a Win2K workstation that was playing musical chairs with my profile all the time, creating temp profiles, new permanent profiles, and sometimes going back to previous profiles. Chances are good that you'll need to rebuild the OS on that machine. --- Jean-Paul Natola <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > When I said she didn't need a password - I was > referring to logging onto the > workstation- which again I know is not possible- > > And in reference to the windows profile not loading- > that is eliminated a > possibility since the desktop shortcuts, were there > and the second outlook > profile was there as well > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > On Behalf Of Nikki > Peterson - OETX > Sent: Monday, May 05, 2008 12:01 PM > To: Exchange Discussions > Subject: RE: Mystery- Profile magically deleted > > If you are opening the profile and you are offline > the OST will open and > you do not need a password. > > Nikki > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > On Behalf Of Knoch > Jr., James W > Sent: Monday, May 05, 2008 8:47 AM > To: Exchange Discussions > Subject: RE: Mystery- Profile magically deleted > > When I said profile, I meant Windows Profile and not > Outlook > specifically though a side effect is that Outlook > will not have any > profiles configured.
