My method was to enter a 16th-note, make it a grace note, enter the second 16th-note, make it a grace note, keep the cursor there and hit the / key to beam them. That would be what I call "entering them as grace notes and then beaming them."

The other method is to enter them as two 16th notes which will beam together automatically then turn the second one into a grace note and then turn the first one into a grace note. That is what I was thinking of as "entering them as 16th notes and turning them into grace notes later."

The third suggestion somebody made is a great one, if you are using simple entry, because for some reason only known to the often-confusing developers at Coda, if you enter two 16th-note grace notes in simple entry they are beamed automatically.

Go figure why they can program it one way in simple entry and the opposite in speedy entry! I guess the two sets of developers never talk to each other.

How is it any quicker than entering them as grace notes and while the
cursor is on the second grace note hitting the / key to beam them?

Automatic would imply that simply entering two grace notes they would
"automatically" be beamed with no further effort necessary.

I agree that the two workarounds are about equally difficult (ie, not
very...), but I'm confused by your distinction between "entering them first
and turning them into grace notes later" as opposed to "entering them as
grace notes". Am I missing something here? It seems to me that regardless
of whether you use the "/" key or convert to graces in reverse order,
either way you still have to enter it as a big note and then change it to a
grace.

Is this perhaps a difference between QWERTY Speedy and MIDI Speedy?
