Then perhaps we should have some discussion about it. :)

I don�t use the other commands in that submenu very frequently. I 
also think that there already is a very good ui to choose all the 
other functions form the toolbar in the buddy window, so it would be 
a shift from the dock menu to the toolbar in the newly created im 
window.

I think this would be the better way, as it would require the user by 
only one more step in the action and would avoid the deep submenus 
which the HIG does deprecate.

Also it would be a duplication of functionality which should better 
be in one place as to not confuse users.

Sorry for all that use the dock regularly, but I think that it would 
be more usable if it would be as simple as possible, and that ther 
alreaddy is to much options in there. (Perhaps not if you have only 
5-10 online buddys, but if you have up to 30, I think it certainly 
gets very messy.)
