Yeah, but that's something that everybody should know how to do.

I'd shy away from it. Things that only work on one service like that
generate lots of extraneous bug reports ("Fire doesn't show 'user is typing'
notifications for AIM buddies") and impossible feature requests ("I want to
set my status to 'Eating a very large cheeseburger in paradise' on ICQ").
It's a headache for us, confuses users, and lends falsely to the impression
that Fire is half-baked.
