The SDR 1000 user manual says on page 8:
"While the SDR1000 covers frequencies down to 11 kHz, additional filtering 
is required to minimize response to harmonics. The optional filter bank (on 
the RFE board) allows the user to customize the radio to add support for 
such frequencies".
You need a preselector and / or antenna tuner to enjoy listening on long and 
medium wave. I have done very successful dx reception of non directional 
beacons on long wave with the SDR1000. However, I use a preselector with 
three parallel tuned circuits and Q-multiplier in front of the SDR1000 to 
minimize the reponse to harmonics. I cannot see an easy fix to get rid of 
spurs on these frequencies.
