In windows query modem option is there in phones and modems option
which suggests the init string. but i don't know if that string works
or not.
in linux, after executing command wvdialconf, if the phone is found,
the init string is also given alongside. What happened in my case was
that the init string worked only to connect and immediately
disconnect. I then became sure that my phone should work in linux.
Luckily i had the init string which i was running in windows. Then i
could connect it.
The bottomline is the init string can be checked if the phone can be
used or not in linux. If the phone connects( even though for a short
time) then a proper init key will work properly.
