Task switching isn't the same as SMP support to benefit from the presence of multiple processor sockets, cores and/or hyperthreading Not sure about FDSHELL's abilities. I'd love for someone to come up with a decent DOSSHELL.INI for it, including a usable/pretty color scheme.
