Laurent, thanks for letting us know that you will not tolerate one subscriber sending a private email to another, even though by your own admission these emails are "off-list and not directly falling under the list's rules." I am also grateful that you pointed out how disturbed you were when you learned that these private, off-list emails strayed too far from the subjects discussed on the list; we wouldn't want people to get the idea that they should take off-topic discussions off-list.
I'm especially glad that you sent out your reminder this afternoon, because it just so happens that I was writing an email to my dear mother today, and I was confused as to how I should go about sending it. I am a member of this list, of course, so I will need to follow the list's rules, and I am afraid the letter contains very little discussion of Apple's G-based processor laptops, which could pose a problem as well. So tell me, Laurent, should I send the letter to you for approval before I send it to dear old Mom, or should I send it directly and consider myself banned from the list? Thanks for all your help, Mitch.
