Most likely you checked the Mplayer 0.1 and not the Mplayer 2 betas. I only had great success with beta 4 and 7 (current is 8, but I haven't tried it yet). You are, however, unfortunately also spreading FUD and erroneous information about the problem, at least regarding what can play or not on other models beside your own, which doesn't help anyone. I don't care what Apple do as long as I can watch DVDs, MPG4s and S-VCD titles. Obviously they should have made Lombard more OS X compatible or vice versa, but unless you're going to join or start a class action suit I kindly suggest you give this issue a rest as we're all just repeating the same stuff. I tried to start a new thread as I'm interested in solutions for other models, especially regarding those that *do* have hardware decoding.
